Fees Structure for the year 2019-20

*Annual Fees shall be increased by 3% each year.
The Annual Fee is to be paid by the student at the time of Counseling by a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of the Director/Principal of concerned college/institute, payable at Pune. (Note: Annual fees include tuition fees and development fees)
(**) The Institutional category fees will be collected as per US $ rate on the day of admission.
University Eligibility & Registration Fee (One-time Fee)
Fifteen Percent (15%) of the Annual Fee, payable for the first year only, shall be paid by the student separately at the time of filling in the Eligibility Application, as University Eligibility & Registration Fee. This fee shall be paid by a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of “Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth” payable at Pune. (Note: - The University Eligibility & Registration Fee is non-refundable)
University Examination Fee:-
In addition to the above fees the student shall pay the University Examination Fee as prescribed by the University from time to time. Other conditions and formalities shall be as per the Rules of the Vidyapeeth.



Course Duration : 4 years
Admission Procedure : Through All India Common Entrance Test conducted by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune.
Entry Qualification : H.S.C. or any other examination equivalent to 10+2 HSC examination of any recognized Board/ University after 12 years of study.
45% for general category and 40% for reserved category. Specifically in PCBE subjects.

Admission Requirements
  • The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st Dec. of the year of admission.
  • The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of :
    • Higher Secondary school Certificate Examination (12 years course)
    • Or
      Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2) , Pre-degree Examination (10+2)
    • Or
      An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized Board or University with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) & English with minimum of 45% aggregate marks(PCBE), For reserve category 40%.
  • Candidate shall be medically fit.
Entrance / Selection Test

Selections of the candidates should be based on the merit of the entrance examination conducted by Vidyapeeth or Competent Authority

Duration : Duration of the course shall be four years including internship.
Vacation : 6 weeks vacation shall be given each year.
Aims :

The aim of the undergraduate nursing programme is to

  • Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.
  • Prepare nurses who can independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital , community nursing services and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor and Manager in a clinical / public health setting.

Objectives

On completion of the four year B.Sc. Nursing Programme the graduate will be able to

  • Apply knowledge from physical, biological and behavioural sciences medicine including alternative systems and nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families and communities.
  • Demonstrate understanding of life style and other factors, which effect health individuals and groups.
  • Provide nursing care based on steps of nursing process in collaboration with the individuals & groups.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skill in making decisions in all situations in order to provide quality care.
  • Utilize the latest trends and technology in providing health care.
  • Provide promotive, preventive and restorative health services in line with national health policies and programmes.
  • Practice within the framework of code of ethics and professional conduct and acceptable standards of practice within the legal boundaries.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals and groups and members of the health team in order to promote effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in clinical / community health settings.
  • Participate effectively as members of the health team in health care delivery system.
  • Demonstrate leadership and managerial skills in clinical / community health settings.
  • Conduct need based research studies in various settings and utilize the research feedings to improve the quality of care.
  • Demonstrate awareness, interest and contribute towards advancement of self and of the profession.

Note :
1.

Internship means 8 hours of integrated clinical duties in which 2 weeks of evening and night shift duties are included.

2. Internship should be carried out as 8 hours per day @ 48 hours per week.
3.

Students during internship will be supervised by nursing teachers.

4. Fourth year final examination to be held only after completing internship.

Note :
1.

Anatomy & Physiology -Question paper will consist of section A Anatomy of 37 marks & B Physiology should be of 38 marks.

2.

Nutrition & Biochemistry - Question paper will consist of section A Nutrition of 45 marks & B Biochemistry should be of 30 marks.

3.

Pharmacology, Pathology, Genetics : Section A Pharmacology with 38 marks, section B of Pathology of 25 and Genetics with 12 marks.

4.

Nursing Research & Statistics - Nursing Research should be of 50 marks & Statistics of 25 marks.

5.

Minimum pass marks shall be 40 % for English only.

6.

Theory & Practical examinations for Introduction to computer to be conducted as College exam.& marks to be sent to the University for inclusion in the marks sheet.

7.

Minimum pass marks shall be 50 % in each of the Theory & Practical papers separately.

8.

A candidate must have minimum of 80 % attendance (irrespective of the kind of absence) in theory and practical in each subject for appearing for examination.

9.

A candidate must have 100% attendance in each of the practical areas before award of degree.

10.

A candidate has to pass in theory and practical exam separately in each of the paper.

11.

If a candidate fails in either theory or practical paper he/she has to re-appear for both the papers (Theory & Practical)

12.

Maximum number of attempts permitted for each paper is 3 including first attempt.

13.

A candidate failing in more then two subjects will not be promoted to the next year.

14.

Candidate shall not be admitted to the subsequent higher examination unless the candidate has passed the previous examination.

15.

The maximum period to complete the course successfully should not exceed 8 years.

16.

Maximum number of candidates for practical examination should not exceed 20 per day.

17.

All practical examinations must be held in the respective clinical areas.

18.

One internal and one external examiner should jointly conduct practical examination for each student.

19.

An examiner should be a lecturer or above in a college of nursing with M.Sc. (Nursing) in concerned subject and minimum of 3 years of teaching experience. To be an examiner for nursing foundations course faculty having M.Sc. (N) with any specialty shall be considered.
